How much are your services?
Each business is unique and have different requirements
for their online presence. However we don’t believe you should have to pay big bucks
for good service and professional design, especially if you are an individual or
small business with limited resources. So we strive to give you what you need to
get your website or design work done, without the huge costs.
Why put my site on the Internet?
The Internet is the marketplace of the new millennium.
Over 150 million people are now using the Internet and that number is growing every
day. Consumers are spending time and money online in ever increasing numbers. As
a result, many businesses are looking to set up a web site. In truth, can your business
afford to not be on the Internet? It took only four years for the Internet to grow
to 50 million users. A recent report by the Department of Commerce announced a startling
fact: traffic on the Internet has been doubling every 100 days! That makes the Internet
the fastest-growing communications medium in the history of the world!
How do I set up a new account / purchase your products?
You have two options, you can choose to pay upfront or depending on the product, you can pay via a plan on a month to month contract basis, please contact us to address your requirements.
How long does it take to set up a service? (Eg: Hosting, Domain Name or Website)
Domain
Names and Hosting normally takes a few hours (during office hours). You will receive
your welcome and set-up information by email. Domain names can take 24-48 hours to
point to your new account. However, as soon as you receive your welcome message by
email, you are ready to use your new account with your temporary sub-address.
Website setup times will vary depending on your requirements, a simple small site can be done within about 24-48 hours, whilst larger or e-Commerce sites can take up to 2 weeks. We also require the info from you to put on the site and have several checkpoints to allow you to view the site as a draft to ensure we are on the right track.
What are your name servers?
Primary Nameserver: ns1.rawdatadesign.com.au
Secondary Namserver: ns2.rawdatadesign.com.au
Is there a minimum contract period for Domains or Hosting?
The only minimum periods
for each account are the minimum periods for which each account type is available,
typically 12 months for hosting and most domain names; however some Domain Names,
such as those ending .com.au are a 2 year period minimum.
Can you help me promote my website?
Yes! As a standard procedure for all websites,
we align our design principles with commonly accepted benchmarks for search engine
optimization. All of our packages include full keyword, page title and meta-tag administration
tools to increase the likelihood of a favourable search engine ranking. We can also
provide additional SEO services.
Can you provide graphics that are relevant to my business?
Yes. We can use a combination
of stock photography and images/graphics that relate to your business or industry
to help create a professional design for your website.
Do you use Flash animation in your website design?
Yes we do use flash as and when required. It is important to note that there are
times when flash animations can be an asset but it would be unwise to use "flash"
to create an entire website or even entire pages of your website as search engines
are not able to read the content of flash and therefore any words used in animations
will not be indexed by the search engines.
Generally it is best to use flash for
smaller banners, advertisements or demonstrations and incorporate the flash animation
into a web page which also includes some written text in html. This way the search
engines will be able to index your information.
Can I get e-mail with my website?
Yes you can have multiple addresses if required.
How do I use my FTP account?
You first need to download an FTP program such as Cute FTP or WS_FTP. Once you have an FTP program, you just need to enter your domain details, and account user name and password
What types of payment do you accept?
We use PayPal to process Visa, MasterCard, Bankcard,
Amex, Cheque, Money Orders and Direct Payment into our bank account via internet
or direct deposit. If you wish to pay by a Direct Payment into our bank account or
via internet, please contact us directly.
What is the difference between Disk Space
and Bandwidth?
"Disk Space" is the amount of space you use on our server. Eg: how
big your web site is. "Bandwidth" is what passes through our server from your web
site. Eg: emails, hits to your web site, etc, and all other data transfer.
Do you
provide tech support?
Yes, we will provide our customers with technical support for
any problems related to our services or tools that are offered by us. If you require

Do you handle the domain name registration process?
Yes we apply for the domain name
for you; however, we do not handle the name registration ourselves. We apply and
organise the domain for you including delegating your site name to your preferred
host, hopefully you would choose Raw Data Design for your hosting. Please note that
we will only use an authorised accredited registrar of internet names to register
your domain name. If you are transferring a domain, and you authorise us to do it
by giving us the registry key for your domain, we can organise your transfer at no
extra fee. Or you can handle the domain transfer yourself. If you have any questions

Who owns my domain if I register my domain name through you?
You do. You, or the person
you specify when we register the name, will be listed as the registered owner of
your domain and will retain full control over it at all times.
I already own a domain name; can I transfer it to you?
Yes, you can. As described
above, we can do this for you at no extra cost and don't forget, if you still need
help, email our support team at: support@rawdatadesign.com.au
Do all packages have
FTP?
Yes, we offer FTP (File Transfer Protocol) on all our Web Packages and Hosting
Packages
What is Domain Parking?
Domain Parking is a place that you can “park” your
domain name until you are ready to upload a website. The site is "parked" on our
server to let people know that your Website is coming soon. Or to secure your domain
name prior to being ready to have a website.
Can I upgrade or downgrade to a different
package?
Yes, you can downgrade at anytime. When you upgrade to a higher package,
you will pay the difference for the upgrade to the bigger package.
What happens if
I decide to leave Raw Data Design Hosting?
You are free to leave at any time. No refunds
will be given because your Raw Data Design services are on a year to year basis.
If you do decide to leave Raw Data Design Hosting, there are no cancellation fees.
What server software are you running?
We run Linux and Apache web server.
